As New York State moves closer to allowing recreational marijuana sales, local municipalities have had to let the state know by the end of 2021 whether they will participate. The state will issue licenses for either or both – marijuana dispensaries or on-site consumer lounges. Local governments that have decided not to participate can change their mind and participate at any time. However, the cities that have chosen to participate will not be able to change their minds now.

Here is the list of cities and towns in Monroe County that have opted out, at least for now, and will not allow marijuana dispensaries and on-site consumer lounges.
